The beloved singer, 48, first became a mom at the height of her career, in 1997, when she welcomed her first son, Zion. She wrote her debut solo album The Miseducation of Lauryn Hill, which includes the record "To Zion," while pregnant with him.

Lauryn has six kids; her first five, who she shares with ex Rohan Marley, are son Zion, 26, daughter Selah, 25, son Joshua, 22, and John, 21, and daughter Sarah, 16.

In 2011, she welcomed son Micah, 12, though she has not publicly disclosed the identity of his father.

Who is Lauryn Hill's first child Zion, 26?

Zion, born on August 3, 1997, is Lauryn's first son with her ex Rohan, 51, son of Bob Marley and Janet Hunt.

In 1998, she told theLos Angeles Times that having Zion "helped me realize what was really important," and explained: "I had made a lot of decisions for other people more than myself – which women tend to do. A lot of people were against my having a child so early, and at that point in my career. After the success of The Score, I was suddenly forced to go off the road, because I was seven or eight months pregnant. It was one of the first things I did where I put my happiness first."

Zion himself is a father to son Zephaniah Nesta, born in 2017, and daughter Azariah Genesis, who he shares with longtime girlfriend Tania.

Selah Marley Hill, 25

Selah, who is the spitting image of her mom, was born on November 12, 1998, and is both a model and actress, with an upcoming role in crime movie Swerving.

She started modeling when she was in the seventh grade, and in addition to that and acting, has also expressed an interest in following in her mother's footsteps with singing.

Joshua Marley Hill, 22

Joshua, born on December 5, 2001, is also following in the footsteps of both his mom and grandfather, and has recently exploded on TikTok thanks to his viral song "Praise Jah In The Moonlight," which has been used on TikTok in over 2.6 million videos, and his first post with the song has over 78 million views.

Professionally, he goes by the name YG, and recently performed alongside his mom on stage at Coachella.

John Marley Hill, 21

John was born on June 28, 2003, and has not stepped into the spotlight yet like his older siblings, however he did appear on a Rag & Bone campaign with some of them back in 2019.

In a tribute in honor of his 17th birthday in 2020, Lauryn wrote on Instagram: "To my beloved baby boy John. Happy belated birthday!!! I tell the story often of how your smile was a reflection of love and a source of clarity for me during challenging days. May you always connect to that source of love and let no fear or vain thing stop you from being your greatest."

Sarah Marley Hill, 16

Sarah, born on January 2, 2008, just celebrated her milestone 16th birthday this year with a lavish 1920s-themed party at hotspot Cipriani in New York City.

Her dad Rohan shared a glimpse of the epic festivities on Instagram, and wrote: "My Princess, we have so [many] beautiful memories in this moment… I Love You @whoissaramarley. Thank you to your amazing mother @mslaurynhill no one does it better."

Micah Hill, 12

Micah is the youngest of the crew, born on July 23, 2011, and the only one whose father isn't Rohan.

Though Lauryn and Rohan have maintained a friendly relationship, when Micah was born, and rumors swirled about who the father was, she wrote on X, formerly known as Twitter: "Contrary to the numerous reports, Mr. Marley did not abandon me while pregnant with his child," adding: "We have had long periods of separation over the years but our five children together remain a joy to both of us."

Did Lauryn Hill marry Bob Marley's son?

Though she had in the past referred to Rohan – an entrepreneur and former Canadian Football League player – as her husband, the two never married.

Rohan himself was married to Geraldine Khawly from 1993 to 1996, after which he was in an on-and-off relationship with Lauryn for several years. Rohan and Geraldine welcomed daughter Eden in 1994 as well as son Nico the following year, and Lauryn appears to be close to both of them, having often shared photos with and tributes to them on social media.

He later briefly married Brazilian model and singer Barbara Fialho, 36, from 2019 to 2020.
